A Mountain of Adventures

After multiple trips on planes, over 5,000 miles driven on our car, 2 months away and nine states... WE ARE HOME! I admit, we've actually been home for a few weeks now, but as you can imagine, we've been trying to play catch up. Though our travels were long, we had an amazing experience. We enjoyed our visits with so many friends and family, and enjoyed celebrating so many Sacraments with such dear friends. Congratulations to Tai and Colleen Nixon and Andy and Lisa Sojourner on their recent marriages! Our Godson, Henry, was also welcomed into the Christian family through his baptism. What an honor to celebrate with the Mosley family! At the end of July our dear friends (and former roommate, then neighbors) gave birth to their second child: Kevin Andrew. Welcome to your little one, Kassie and Andrew Elekes!
Perhaps the highlight of our summer was the ordinations of our two dear friends: Fr. Mike Nixon and Fr. Kevin McQuone. I don't know if words can express the grace, joy and peace that is felt at such an event. Not only is it amazing to witness an ordination, but these two men have been friends of Brittany's since high school and friends of Tom's since college. It is so inspiring to know that the Church has gained two more faithful and amazing priests.

Of course there are so many wonderful stories to mention, but we should at least tell you about the amazing accomplishment Tom made during our visit to Colorado-- his first 14er. Tom and Shaun (Brittany's brother) climbed Mt. Huron (over 14,000 feet). It was not Shaun's first "14er" and if I had to guess, it won't be Tom's last. To say the least, they were exhausted by the time they arrived home that night, but it was surely a trip Tom will never forget.
Thank you to all of you who put us up in your Bed and Breakfasts. Thank you to all who fed us so much delicious food. Thank you to all of you who love and support us through your friendship. Thank you to all of you who are living joyfully for the Kingdom... you're witness is much appreciated. Thank you to all of you who continue to support our mission, both financially and through your prayers. Please pray for a successful year here at UK and at all FOCUS schools. We look forward to updating you about the amazing things that are already happening here this semester.

Blessings!

Top to bottom: Tom and Shaun atop Mt. Huron; Brittany with her college roommates (celebrating Lisa's marriage and awaiting baby Elekes' arrival); with our Godson, Henry; with our newly ordained friend, Fr. Kevin (at Tai and Colleen's wedding).
