Meet TEAM KENTUCKY

What a beautiful season it is in the Bluegrass state! Leaves are changing, the horse races at Keenland are in full swing and it's football season (though most Wildcat fans would probably rather not talk about football this season). Life in Kentucky is good.

As many of you know from our recent newsletter, things on campus are busy but blessed. The team has 6 weekly Bible studies and has had many opportunities to spend time with students. Just a couple of weeks ago we were able to have the guys in Tom's study over for dinner. What a great opportunity we have to invite students into our home and into our family.

I wanted to take a minute to introduce you to our team here at UK (as pictures above; L to R):

Matt McCartney is our loyal team director who is originally from Ohio, but has spent the past several years at CU-Boulder. His wife, Libby, and I worked together at the FOCUS support center in Denver a few years ago. Matt has served in various roles with FOCUS for almost a decade, as has Libby. Most recently, Libby was the director of Mission Communications. Their experience and knowledge is such an invaluable part of our team. Matt and Libby also have three girls: Cate-5, Jane-3 and Anne-1. Caitrin, of course, has had a lot of fun playing with her new friends.

Becca Harris is a recent graduate of Christendom College (Front Royal, VA) and has a degree in Philosophy. It is a small world, because Becca is from the same small town in CA as one of our former Abbey students. Becca is our teams fashion consultant, philosopher and cultural educator (she spent time in Europe during college and during this past summer).

Laura Gifford hails from the Cleveland, OH area and is a graduate of Bowling Green State Univ. (OH) where she received her business degree. Before FOCUS, Laura had her own cleaning/organizing business. We have yet to invite her over to tackle our apartment, but we're hoping she can help soon. :) Laura's faith is truly inspiring.

And of course, you all know Tom.
