Dear Brit and Tom,
Congratulations to you both on the arrival of Ms. Catrin. She's lovely.
As you know Ms. B. is one of my most adored and favorite people on the planet! Sorry Tom, I'm sure when we met I'll love you like Brit! I keep watching your wedding video and crying like a baby.
I'm in fact looking forwarded to finding a talking Tucan bird that Brittany had as a 1 1/2 year old to send as a gift if I can locate one. It was a beautiful experience being with Brit strolling miles with her with it. For the first few days that is.
Well... that's not really a completely "true" statement. It reached a point when, yes, a sledgehammer came to mind when Brittany wouldn't part with the talking bird. Every time it moved in it's cage it started talking and singing endlessly.
Unfortunately it was her favorite toy at the time. We(Cathy and I) had to sneak it away from her. It was no "Walt Disney World" experience with the crying that insued when the bird mysteriously disappeared (yes-- we took it from her).
Brit the bird didn't fly away, we lied. She cried for two days asking for the bird in her baby talk. I have the picture of her kicking it around in her stroller. May I recommend no musical or loud toys purchases. If so have a hammer nearby after the first week.
After a week of listening to this bird sing, Cathy and I went batty. Cathy made me swear I'd never by her another musical toy. I did however, have her singing the Doors at age 3 and 1/2. Cathy wasn't happy with the introduction to Jim Morrison at such an early age. But Brit did seem to enjoy singing his songs. Thank God it didn't seem to harm her psyche or I'd feel forever guilty.
I loved driving around with her and Shaun in my car and we'd sing (as best as she could at her age) and going to TG&Y with them. What great times in my life.
Brit was a big baby too, and I remember I couldn't wait for her to arrive. I spent many happy hours with her and Shaun. She had a lot of dark hair too. What a blessing she was to my life. She and Shawn kept me out of trouble in High School when baby sitting.
I'm so happy for you both and can't wait for you all to come to Virginia Beach one day with her to see me or when I'm better down there.
May God bless and keep you all during this happy time. Seriously though this is one of the happiest moments your life I know. I'm so happy for you both.
Love,
Kim
