With only a few boxes left around the house, we're fairly settled in and already very busy. There are a number of activities that have presented themselves to us (either on a weekly or monthly basis): dance class for Caitrin, "Little Servants" virtue club, Mothering with Grace (Mom's meeting), Family Devotion Mass, story time at the library and a number of parks to visit. This has certainly been the easiest transition we've made during a move. (Thanks to all the friends we already had here!)
With all of the busyness, Tom quickly realized, "We've never taken a family vacation." We're grateful for all the places we've been over the past few years, but they've all been work related or to visit family. It was finally time for our family to go somewhere. After much debate, we decided to take a "staycation" to Charlotte (about 20 miles from home). We went to ImaginOn (the children's library and theatre), rode the LightRail, did a bit of shopping, ate some delicious food (including The Cowfish "burger & sushi bar") and swam in the saltwater pool at our hotel.
Though we look forward to taking a vacation sometime in the future, we really enjoyed our little weekend away (and the money we saved using Priceline, Groupon & restaurant.com)!
